Visual Impact Assessments - Helium Aerostat
Upper Cut Productions was commissioned in Summer 2009 to provide two helium balloons to aid in a visual impact assessment for the Chelsea Barracks planning application.

The balloons were floated to specific heights and at specific locations around the site to mark the positions of the proposed buildings. This was a useful exercise in helping the visiting Westminster planners to conduct a thorough visual impact assessment.

Upper Cut Productions' helium balloons can be fitted with strobe lights and high visibility markings to make them easier to see for this type of work. Each balloon is restrained by up to 3 manned tether lines which are manoevered according to the prevailing wind. This method ensures that the balloons remain at their target height and position throughout the assessment.
